Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nate Newton looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Newton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Monsoon! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Newton misses with a takedown attempt - Monsoon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Newton looks to clinch and Monsoon counters with a straight right hand. Newton shoots in and drives through. Monsoon sprawls well. Newton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Newton. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Monsoon is defended easily by Newton. Newton looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Monsoon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Monsoon is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monsoon wants to pass the guard but Newton is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monsoon stands and steps away. Newton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Newton drives through with a takedown into Monsoon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Newton is breathing heavily. Newton with a flurry of punches that miss. Monsoon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Monsoon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Monsoon cracks Newton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monsoon lands a nice shot to the head. Newton is in a horrible position here. Monsoon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Monsoon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Monsoon raining down shots from the mount! Newton is desperately trying to improve his position but Monsoon has a good base and remains in mount. Newton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Monsoon working the ground and pound effectively.
Newton is rocked! Newton takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Monsoon's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
