Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spartacus Gladius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winter comes to the cage accompanied by ICE COLD. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Winter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Spartacus Gladius! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Winter misses with a left hand and Gladius counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Winter throws a looping overhand right but Gladius ducks down to avoid it. Gladius shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gladius fails with the takedown and Winter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gladius will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gladius misses with a takedown and Winter counters with a left to the body. Jack Winter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spartacus Gladius. Winter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gladius circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gladius moves to clinch but Winter breaks away and Gladius takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A jab from Winter misses. Winter looks to land a left hand but Gladius moved out of range nicely. Winter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gladius tries to clinch and Winter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jack Winter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Winter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gladius looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Gladius fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Winter circles away from the clinch attempt and Winter counters with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Winter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gladius tries for a takedown but Winter circles away easily and Winter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gladius uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Winter. Winter misses with a combination
and Gladius counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gladius. Winter tries to break the clinch but Gladius is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gladius tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Winter smiles and moves away.
Gladius shoots in for a double leg but Winter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gladius fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Winter avoids it really well and circles away. Gladius fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Winter does no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gladius looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winter is fending him off so far but Gladius persists. Nope, Winter circles away and we're back to standing. Gladius throws a right and a left that Winter avoids nicely. Winter throws a sloppy body shot
and Gladius counters with a nice leg kick. Gladius wants to clinch and Winter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gladius tries to clinch but fails miserably and Winter counters with a stiff right hand. Winter circles away from the clinch attempt and Winter counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jack Winter will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Gladius shoots in looking for a takedown but Winter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gladius's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gladius wants to clinch up but Winter keeps it at a distance. Gladius tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Winter counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gladius drops his hands momentarily and Winter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gladius closes the distance but Winter moves to the side and Winter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Winter misses with a few strikes there.
Gladius looks to clinch and Winter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gladius moves away from the strike by Winter. Gladius looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winter is fending him off so far but Gladius persists. Nope, Winter circles away and we're back to standing. Winter with a body punch. A glancing blow. Winter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter thuds his right hand into Gladius's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Winter throws a one two combo.
Winter punishes Gladius's body with a nice straight punch. Gladius wants to clinch but Winter slips to the side and Winter counters with a nice uppercut. Winter just misses with a punch to the body.
Gladius lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A punch combination from Winter misses. Spartacus Gladius is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A combination from Winter does no damage.

Gladius closes the distance but Winter moves to the side and Winter counters with a nice body shot. Gladius closes the distance but Winter moves to the side and Winter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Winter works over Gladius's head and body with a nice combination. Winter leaves Gladius with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jack Winter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spartacus Gladius. Winter throws an overhand right that lands on Gladius's shoulder, as Gladius tries to avoid the shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gladius wants to clinch and Winter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Nice takedown defense from Winter. No joy for Gladius on that attempt. Winter misses with a straight right. The fight stays on the outside here - Gladius looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gladius tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gladius takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gladius looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winter is fending him off so far but Gladius persists. Nope, Winter circles away and we're back to standing. Gladius doesn't succeed with the takedown and Winter counters with a left to the body. Winter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Gladius moves to clinch but Winter breaks away and Winter counters with a left to the body. Gladius has closed the distance and engaged Winter in a clinch.
Winter lands with a light punch inside. Gladius breaks from the clinch.
Gladius dodges the punch combination from Winter.
Winter tries to keep at a distance but Gladius has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Winter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Gladius with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Winter tries to work over Gladius's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Winter lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gladius backwards. Winter is pushing Gladius up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Winter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter slowing the pace effectively. A head punch on the inside from Gladius fails to land. Gladius cracks Winter with a nice body shot. Winter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Gladius prevents a body shot from Winter. Gladius blocks a body shot from Winter. Gladius wants a takedown but no success here.
Gladius's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Winter swings away with a body shot that misses
and Gladius counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Winter misses with a straight left. Gladius will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jack Winter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spartacus Gladius.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gladius shoots and misses enabling Winter to counter with a crisp jab. Gladius tries to grapple but his opponent circles letting Winter counter with a right hand. Gladius avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gladius misses with a looping right. A big left from Winter misses. Spartacus Gladius has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winter circles away from the clinch attempt and Winter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gladius darts in trying to clinch and Winter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nice takedown defense from Winter. No joy for Gladius on that attempt. Gladius shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Winter counters with a three punch combo that has Gladius backing up. Gladius nods at Winter to acknowledge the strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Winter. Well Winter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
