PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bilashki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kivi Kasvo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bilashki comes to the cage accompanied by The Warriors of Skyrim. Kasvo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Danzig Mother. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jon Bilashki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kivi Kasvo!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasvo throws a nice looking combination but Bilashki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kasvo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kasvo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bilashki wants to get back to his feet.
Bilashki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kasvo on the ground.

Kasvo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kasvo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bilashki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kasvo thows a huge punch but Bilashki dodges it nicely.

Kasvo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bilashki defends it easily.

Kasvo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bilashki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bilashki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kasvo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bilashki uses it to pass to side control.
Bilashki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kasvo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bilashki moves in looking to clinch but Kasvo pushes him off.
Bilashki misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kasvo.
Bilashki tries to clinch there but Kasvo circles away.
Kasvo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Bilashki counters with a left and a right that stings Kasvo.
Bilashki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kasvo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bilashki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kasvo moves away.
Kasvo tries to bum rush Bilashki with a series of wild strikes but Bilashki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Bilashki counters with a nice kick to the body.
Bilashki looks for a takedown but Kasvo sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bilashki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kasvo keeps the fight on the outside.
Bilashki tries for a takedown but Kasvo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kasvo throws a hook to the side of Bilashki's head but Bilashki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bilashki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kasvo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kasvo cracks Bilashki with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kasvo throws an overhand right that lands on Bilashki's shoulder, as Bilashki tries to avoid the shot.
Kasvo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Bilashki moves into range and clinches up with Kasvo.
Kasvo misses with a punch on the inside.
Kasvo lands a hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kasvo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bilashki blocks an uppercut.
Bilashki lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kasvo wants a takedown but no success here.

Bilashki breaks the clinch.

Bilashki drops Kasvo with a beautiful combination! Kasvo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Bilashki is looking for the KO!


It looks like Kivi Kasvo has been cut.
Kasvo cracks a nice hook into Bilashki's ribs.

Bilashki misses with a body shot.
Bilashki tries to close the distance and clinch but Kasvo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kasvo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bilashki can't fight it off and eventually Kasvo manages to take the fight to the floor. Bilashki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kasvo throws a jab when Bilashki was well out of range.
Bilashki tries to clinch but Kasvo is having none of it.
Kasvo shoots in and drives through. Bilashki sprawls well.
Bilashki walks into a straight right hand from Kasvo.
Kasvo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bilashki's waist but Bilashki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kasvo off to one side.
Kasvo lands with a nice body punch.
Bilashki takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bilashki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kasvo throws out the jab.
Bilashki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kasvo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bilashki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bilashki shoots for a double leg takedown but Kasvo sprawls well. He's pushed Bilashki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kasvo walks into a jab.
Kasvo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kasvo fails to land with a series of punches.
Kasvo swings for the body but Bilashki moves out of range.
Bilashki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kasvo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bilashki moves away.

and Kasvo counters with a shoot takedown. Bilashki fights it but they end up in guard.

Kasvo won't allow Bilashki to get back to his feet.
Bilashki has momentary wrist control but Kasvo slips an elbow through the middle.

Kasvo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kasvo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bilashki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kasvo postures up in Bilashki's guard and throws a big left but Bilashki blocks it.

Kasvo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bilashki dives on top into guard.

Kasvo has his foot on Bilashki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bilashki works his way back into a safe position though.
Kasvo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bilashki is one step ahead there.

Kasvo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bilashki stacks Kasvo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bilashki!
Kasvo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kasvo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bilashki wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bilashki tries to stand but Kasvo is controlling his head.

Bilashki decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bilashki bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kasvo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
No joy there for Kasvo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bilashki enables Kasvo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bilashki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kasvo passes Bilashki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kasvo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kasvo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bilashki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kasvo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bilashki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kasvo.

Kivi Kasvo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kasvo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
