Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John McClaine!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt moves into range and clinches up with McClaine.

Hunt gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Hunt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McClaine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hunt is one step ahead there.
Hunt postures up.
Hunt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McClaine's guard.
McClaine wants to get back to full guard.
Hunt working McClaine over with strikes.
McClaine tries to roll over but Hunt keeps him under control.
Hunt stalling away here and it's allowed McClaine to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hunt won't allow McClaine to sweep him here.
Hunt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

McClaine is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McClaine keeping moving, preventing Hunt from controlling successfully.
Hunt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hunt wants to pass the guard but McClaine is keeping the position.

McClaine is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

McClaine looking for a guillotine here but Hunt defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hunt shoots in and drives through. McClaine sprawls well.

Hunt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hunt slips nicely into half guard.
McClaine gets back to full guard.
Hunt works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Hunt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McClaine gets back to full guard.
McClaine avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hunt with a flurry of punches that miss.

McClaine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hunt postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hunt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McClaine is fending him off so far but Hunt persists. Nope, McClaine circles away and we're back to standing.

McClaine looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hunt!
Hunt gets back to half guard.

Hunt manages to escape and get back to his feet!

McClaine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McClaine is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
McClaine seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Hunt will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

McClaine is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hunt is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hunt flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. McClaine anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hunt and secures both hooks! This could be bad! McClaine slips an arm under Hunt chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. McClaine has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. McClaine is squeezing on Hunt like an anaconda would it's prey. Hunt fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John McClaine!
