22 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Dave Collins! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobotta has his takedown stuffed and Collins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Peter Sobotta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sobotta closes this distance looking for a takedown but Collins circles away. Collins connects with a body shot that sends Sobotta's belly button to the back. Sobotta tries to clinch but fails miserably and Sobotta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Collins throws a head kick that misses. Sobotta misses with a takedown attempt letting Collins counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Sobotta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sobotta tries to clinch but Collins moves out of range. Sobotta gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Collins counters with a left to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Collins stuns Sobotta with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Collins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sobotta at a distance.
Sobotta is breathing heavily. Collins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sobotta looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Sobotta on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobotta tries to clinch up but Collins circles away and keeps his distance. Dave Collins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Collins lands with a shot to the body. Collins digs a good hook to Sobotta's body.
Collins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sobotta is trying to defend but Collins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Sobotta is rocked! Sobotta is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Collins scores with a couple of nice shots. Oh Sobotta is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! No, Collins escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Collins! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Collins landing a few strikes. A big shot lands for Collins! That's hurt Sobotta! Will he recover? Collins fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
