Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dickson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie Alaniz! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alaniz tries to clinch up but Dickson circles away and keeps his distance. Dickson moves into the clinch successfully.
Alaniz has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dickson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. A bit of a pause in the action here. Alaniz controlling the positon. Alaniz gets his hands free as Dickson looks to control. Dickson is really stuck here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alaniz gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Alaniz working for a choke but Dickson is defending well. Dickson trying to control the position but Alaniz manages to sink in the hooks. Alaniz is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Dickson tries to roll but Alaniz sticks to his back.
Alaniz is looking for the choke from the back position but Dickson is controlling his hands well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A bit of a pause in the action here. Alaniz controlling the positon.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Alaniz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dickson is really stuck here.
Alaniz really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Dickson. Dickson is trying to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alaniz has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Alaniz controlling the position well here. Dickson rolled but Alaniz kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alaniz is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar!
