Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrey Konovalov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Blaam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konovalov comes to the cage accompanied by CJClip - No reason to live but we do it. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrey Konovalov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Blaam! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Konovalov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Blaam will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Blaam shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Konovalov as he avoids it easily. Andrey Konovalov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Blaam. Blaam fails with an attempt to clinch.
Blaam fails with the takedown and Konovalov counters with a nice uppercut. Konovalov bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Blaam! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Blaam is rocked!
It looks like Tommy Blaam has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Konovalov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Blaam is still in real trouble! Can Konovalov finish him? Konovalov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Konovalov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Konovalov forces his way into half guard. Konovalov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Konovalov scoring with strikes to the body and head. Konovalov is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Blaam is hurt! He's hurt bad - Konovalov fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Blaam from any more punishment! Congratulations to Konovalov! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andrey Konovalov! Andrey Konovalov retains his lightweight title! Jumping up and down and very excited, Andrey Konovalov waved his t-shirt featuring Steel Penn's Laundry 93%'s logo in front of the cameras.
