Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nic Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahavir Ramanujam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramanujam has chosen Shiva in Exile - Ha'nadi as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ryan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ryan doesn't manage to clinch there - Ramanujam circles away.
Ryan looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Ryan defending well as Ramanujam loads up on a big left hand.

Ryan throws a lazy uppercut
and Ramanujam finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Ramanujam lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Ryan tries to clinch up.
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ramanujam swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ryan doesn't manage to clinch there - Ramanujam circles away.
Ryan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nic Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Ramanujam counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ryan closes the distance but Ramanujam moves to the side
and Ramanujam counters with a right hand to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Ramanujam.
Ryan misses with a wild body shot.
Ramanujam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ramanujam showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ramanujam passes to full mount!
Ramanujam cracks Ryan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ryan has given up his back here.
Ryan has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Ramanujam lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Ramanujam scores with strikes from the back.
Ramanujam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
