Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ladislav Kovarik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laranja's entrance music is best of renato. A fine choice. Renato Laranja has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovarik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laranja was well out of range. Poor timing from Kovarik.
Kovarik works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kovarik scores with the left hand. Laranja knows he should have avoided that one.
Laranja fails with the takedown
and Kovarik counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kovarik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laranja looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laranja looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laranja!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kovarik can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kovarik tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Laranja presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Kovarik is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Laranja has taken his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kovarik is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Laranja off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Ladislav Kovarik comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kovarik has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
