Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Averill Bateson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bateson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Patrick's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bateson connects with a nice short shot to Patrick's temple.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bateson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Patrick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Bateson! Patrick is hurt baaadly! Bateson is firing away with more strikes - Patrick is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
