Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kiichi Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Trig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiichi Miyazawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Trig!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyazawa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trig just misses with a punch to the body.
Trig fails in his attempt to clinch.
Trig shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miyazawa defends it nicely.
Miyazawa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trig throws a head kick that misses.
Trig shoots in for a double leg but Miyazawa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Trig tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Miyazawa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Trig manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miyazawa on his heels. He'll look to pass Miyazawa's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Miyazawa has his hands on Trig's head, controlling the position.
Trig postures up in Miyazawa's guard and throws a big left but Miyazawa blocks it.

Miyazawa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trig is one step ahead there.

Miyazawa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miyazawa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kiichi Miyazawa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Trig pivots, looking for a leg kick but Miyazawa is out of range and Trig settles back down.
Trig throws a right and a left that both miss.
Trig tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miyazawa swivels and escapes.
Kiichi Miyazawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Trig.
Trig throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miyazawa's waist but Miyazawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trig off to one side.
Miyazawa takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Trig shoots in looking for a takedown but Miyazawa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trig's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Trig has his feet on Miyazawa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Trig shoots in for a takedown but Miyazawa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Miyazawa shoots in and bounces Trig off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Trig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miyazawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miyazawa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Trig manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Miyazawa has Trig in his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miyazawa holds on and takes a little breather.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Trig content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Trig trying to control but Miyazawa is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Trig wants to stand but Miyazawa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Frank Trig will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Trig lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miyazawa circles away quickly and effectively.
Miyazawa avoids the head kick by Trig.
Nice takedown defense from Trig. No joy for Miyazawa on that attempt.

Miyazawa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Trig is trying to defend but Miyazawa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Trig is trying to control but can't.
Miyazawa is nestled in close to Trig, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Trig is not content to let Miyazawa control the position.
Trig tries to get to full guard but Miyazawa has control of the leg.

Trig is trying to stand up here but Miyazawa is controlling him well.
Trig is breathing heavily.

Miyazawa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Trig is refusing to be controlled, as Miyazawa sits in half guard.
Miyazawa passes to side control.

Trig is trying to control Miyazawa's posture but Miyazawa avoids it.

Miyazawa lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Check out the look on Miyazawa's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyazawa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miyazawa moves into full mount! Trig won't be happy about that!
Trig takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Trig is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Miyazawa locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Trig is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kiichi Miyazawa!
After the fight, Kiichi Miyazawa was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
