The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lotus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lotus.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Phillips is working an open guard so Lotus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Phillips swings for the body but Lotus moves out of range.
Phillips throws a series of punches but Lotus avoids them all with ease.
Benny Phillips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phillips misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lotus.
Lotus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Phillips throws a leg kick but Lotus moved away.
Phillips looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Lotus looks to land a combination. Phillips sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Phillips just misses with a punch to the body.
Lotus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Phillips waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lotus.
Phillips jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lotus closes the distance and clinches up with Phillips, looking for a takedown. Lotus pushes Phillips against the cage but Phillips circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Lotus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lotus is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Phillips.
Phillips misses with the combination.
Lotus manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Phillips on his heels. He'll look to pass Phillips's guard now, I'm sure.
Lotus wants to pass the guard but Phillips is keeping the position.
Lotus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lotus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phillips swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lotus is pushing down on Phillips's leg trying to pass to half guard. Phillips is fighting to maintain full guard but Lotus has managed to sneak the leg through.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Phillips is looking for a sweep. Lotus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lotus wants to stand up but Phillips is controlling the position.
Phillips is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lotus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lotus's back!
Lotus turns into Phillips and is now in his guard.
Lotus slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lotus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Phillips, who protects the arm well.
Phillips wants to get back to his feet.

Lotus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Phillips knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lotus trying to control the action but Phillips is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lotus is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Phillips is trying to escape and Lotus transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Phillips is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lotus! Very nice indeed!

A relieved looking Tommy Lotus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
