Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bernd Lassnig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Edmonds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bernd Lassnig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Edmonds!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edmonds defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lassnig.

Lassnig closes the distance and clinches.
Edmonds has Lassnig pressed against the cage, preventing Lassnig from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Edmonds manages to pull guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Edmonds is on top in guard.
Lassnig being controlled here, momentarily.
Edmonds trying to control but Lassnig is working from the bottom.
Lassnig manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lassnig unloads with some shots from mount but Edmonds bucks and avoids them well.

Lassnig stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Lassnig moves into range and clinches up with Edmonds.

Lassnig ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lassnig no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Lassnig pushes Edmonds off and scrambles back to his feet.
Edmonds misses with a head kick.
Edmonds shoots for a takedown but Lassnig saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Edmonds dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lassnig. That did some damage!

Edmonds shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Edmonds was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Edmonds looking to control but Lassnig is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lassnig is looking to get to half guard.
Edmonds trying to control but Lassnig is having none of it.
Edmonds prevents Lassnig from getting the reversal.

Lassnig is working hard here to advance position.
Edmonds content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Edmonds manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lassnig to take his back!
Lassnig manages to reverse the position and now he's in Edmonds's guard. Nice work there by Lassnig.

Edmonds has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lassnig off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Edmonds looks winded!

Lassnig has a takedown stuffed.
Edmonds lands a head kick!
Edmonds tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lassnig swivels and escapes.

Edmonds shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Edmonds was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Edmonds tries to control but Lassnig wriggling away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lassnig tries to hold on but Edmonds postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Edmonds dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Nice body kick from Edmonds.
Lassnig throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edmonds's waist but Edmonds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lassnig off to one side.
Lassnig throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Edmonds counters with a nice kick to the body.
Edmonds shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lassnig tries to clinch but Edmonds moves out of range.
Lassnig tries to clinch up but Edmonds circles away and keeps his distance.

Edmonds has taken the fight to the clinch.
Edmonds wants to break free but Lassnig has control.

Lassnig breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Edmonds shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lassnig sprawls well. Lassnig wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Edmonds gets slowly back to his feet.
Edmonds fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lassnig.
Edmonds is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Edmonds gets a clinch.
Edmonds is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lassnig gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bernd Lassnig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Edmonds.
Lassnig wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Edmonds takes a shot to the head.

Edmonds breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lassnig fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Edmonds shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Edmonds is trying to control the action in half guard but Lassnig is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Edmonds is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lassnig works his way to full guard. Good work.

Lassnig is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Edmonds has his hands clasped together but Lassnig extends an breaks Edmonds's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lassnig.
