Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kazushi Nakamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alessio Sakara! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura takes the fight into the clinch. Nakamura wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sakara wants to stall.
Sakara pulls guard. Sakara throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Nakamura is looking to work some ground and pound but Sakara has wrist control. Sakara controlling the position. Sakara controls Nakamura momentarily but Nakamura frees himself. Sakara is looking for a triangle but Nakamura pushes his legs off easily.
Nakamura tries to free his leg and advance position but Sakara is retaining full guard. Sakara not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nakamura is breathing heavily. Nakamura tries to free his leg and advance position but Sakara is retaining full guard. Sakara is trying to control the position but Nakamura postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Sakara tries to clinch but Nakamura moves out of range. Alessio Sakara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakamura darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sakara punching from the bottom.

Sakara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sakara. Sakara working for a triangle but Nakamura defends it easily.

Sakara wants to sweep here but Nakamura controlling him for the moment. Sakara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nakamura prevents Sakara from getting back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sakara is trying to keep Nakamura in close.
Sakara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nakamura manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakara would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sakara trying to control the position from guard on top but Nakamura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nakamura has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sakara should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nakamura has tightened it up now! Sakara should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
