Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmed Ali Baba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 25 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ahmed Ali Baba! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ali Baba fails with the takedown and Flare counters with a nice double leg into guard. Ali Baba looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ali Baba looking to control.
Flare seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Flare thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Flare stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ali Baba swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ali Baba working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Flare. Flare throws a big elbow that misses. Flare trying to control but Ali Baba is working from the bottom. Ali Baba trying to control the position.
Ali Baba is working an open guard so Flare takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ali Baba has his takedown stuffed and Flare counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Flare.

Flare controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because John Flare just wasn't active enough. Flare is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ali Baba's half guard. Ali Baba is looking for a sweep. Flare is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Flare is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ali Baba defends it well. Flare with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Flare moves into full mount! Ali Baba won't be happy about that!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flare controlling the position easily from mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Flare has control of Ali Baba's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ali Baba regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Flare takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flare is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ali Baba to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ali Baba shrugs it off. Ali Baba is desperately trying to improve his position but Flare has a good base and remains in mount. Flare landing punches. Flare landing strikes from the mount. Flare lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Flare wants to control the pace but Ali Baba is squirming around nicely. Flare is standing up, even though he is in mount. Ahmed Ali Baba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ali Baba misses with a jab to the body
and Flare counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flare controlling the action here. Flare works his way into full mount!

Flare is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ali Baba is just riding it out for now. Flare eventually gives up the hold. Flare wants to work for an arm triangle but Ali Baba is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ali Baba slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Flare shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ali Baba napping and manages to drive through into side control! Flare is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ali Baba to escape.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Flare has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Flare tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Ali Baba can't do much from the bottom here. Ali Baba is looking to reverse the position. Flare looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ali Baba tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flare working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ali Baba is trying to control Flare's posture but Flare avoids it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Flare cracks Ali Baba with a big elbow. Flare is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Ali Baba is trying to control Flare's posture but Flare avoids it. That's one minute gone in the round. Flare fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ali Baba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flare's waist but Flare gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ali Baba off to one side. John Flare is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Flare throws a series of punches but Ali Baba avoids them all with ease. Excellent takedown into side control there by Flare. Flare looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ali Baba tries to buck Flare off but Flare is having none of it. Ali Baba can't do much from the bottom here. Flare wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ali Baba, who protects the arm well. Flare thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Ali Baba's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ali Baba is trying to improve his position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Flare is thwarting Ali Baba's attempts to control the position. Ali Baba might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Flare kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Flare seems to be looking for submissions.

Ahmed Ali Baba has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Flare clinches up with Ali Baba and pushes him back against the cage. John Flare is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Flare will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ali Baba up against the cage. Flare lands a takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! John Flare showed his dominance in that final round. Well Flare has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
