Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil NaLeans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Scissors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scissors comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Paper Cut - Linkin Park kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neil NaLeans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Scissors! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scissors throws a combination but it was largely blocked by NaLeans. Scissors fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. NaLeans tries to clinch and Scissors counters with a nice low kick that buckles NaLeans's knee momentarily. Scissors lands with a thumping leg kick.
Scissors throws a jab but it's blocked by NaLeans. Scissors scores with a hook to the body. NaLeans takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Scissors forces NaLeans back against the cage and clinches. NaLeans with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. NaLeans with an attempt at a knee that misses.
NaLeans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Scissors is looking to land body kicks. NaLeans tries to clinch up but Scissors circles away and keeps his distance. Scissors swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Scissors looks for the body kick but NaLeans saw that one coming. NaLeans wants to clinch. NaLeans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Scissors stalling in the clinch but NaLeans improves position. Scissors is defending well against a takedown attempt. Scissors throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but NaLeans blocks it with crossed arms. NaLeans tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Scissors with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
NaLeans lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Scissors is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables NaLeans to keep the fight standing. NaLeans is looking to take this one to the mat. NaLeans leaning against his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Scissors's face as he tries to break the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Scissors lands an elbow inside that NaLeans shrugs off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. NaLeans tries to pull guard but Scissors holds him up against the cage and eventually NaLeans drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neil NaLeans. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scissors takes a knee right on the jaw!

Both fighters working to control the clinch. NaLeans using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Scissors has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Scissors is looking to control NaLeans's arms but NaLeans gets an underhook and turns him. Now Scissors has his back to the cage. Scissors jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as NaLeans walks away with a smile on his face. Scissors gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. NaLeans looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. NaLeans wants to take a breather but Scissors is having none of it. Scissors works his way to full guard. Good work. Scissors is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Scissors is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scissors seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The fighters are battling for position here. NaLeans manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scissors stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. NaLeans swivels though and keeps the full guard. NaLeans seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Scissors is looking to stand up but NaLeans won't let him. NaLeans keeping moving, preventing Scissors from controlling successfully. Scissors thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scissors won't allow NaLeans to sweep him here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. NaLeans is trying to control the position but Scissors postures up. NaLeans keeping moving, preventing Scissors from controlling successfully. Scissors is sitting in close to NaLeans's body. NaLeans has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Scissors is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Scissors is tapping! That was a very nice submission by NaLeans.
