Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Lok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Collins comes into the arena with Irish Rebel Song blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Lok! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lok fails with the takedown and Collins counters by clinching up. Collins controlling the action here for a moment.
Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lok fails with the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Collins. No joy for Lok on that attempt. Max Collins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Lok. Lok shoots in looking for a takedown. Collins tries to sprawl out of it but Lok keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Collins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lok shoots in for a double leg but Collins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Collins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lok moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lok takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Max Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Collins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lok did well to prevent Collins getting side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lok trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins prevents Lok from improving his position. Lok is not content to let Collins control the position. Collins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Collins wants to pass to mount but Lok is defending the position. Lok moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lok keeping moving, preventing Collins from controlling successfully. Lok trying to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Collins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Collins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Collins not landing any meaningful shots this time. Lok wants to get back to full guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Collins throws a strike but Lok rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lok won't allow Collins to get back to his feet. Lok looking to sit in guard and control but Collins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Collins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lok's head. Collins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lok working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Collins. Collins postures up.

Kevin Lok has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Lok gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lok has a closed guard, preventing Collins from standing up. Collins stopping the sweep attempt from Lok. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lok trying to keep a closed guard but Collins is proving a slippery customer.

Max Collins dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lok throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Collins's waist but Collins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lok off to one side. Max Collins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lok takes one to the chin there. Collins misses with a low kick as Lok jumps back. Collins tries to bum rush Lok with a series of wild strikes but Lok uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lok tries for a takedown but Collins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lok closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lok lands in his opponent's guard. Lok avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lok throws a big right hand that misses. Lok wants to pass the guard but Collins is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lok looking to sit in guard and control but Collins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Collins trying to control but Lok is working from the bottom. Collins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Collins is looking to pass into half guard but Lok pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lok is in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Collins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lok stands and throws Collins's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lok advances nicely into full mount. Lok looking to finish Collins with some ground and pound. This is bad for Collins! Lok can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Collins is looking to escape. You get the feeling that Collins really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Lok thowing shots but they're missing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Collins takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lok fails to take his opponent's back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lok has hold of Collins's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Collins manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lok controlling from mount. Lok goes for an armbar but Collins turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Collins. Collins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lok is on top in guard.
Lok sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Collins's guard. Collins looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Collins pushes Lok off looking to stand but Lok dives back in and keeps control.
Lok thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lok seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Collins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lok thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Collins's head. Lok is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kevin Lok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Lok cracks Collins with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Collins checks a low kick from Lok. Collins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lok paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lok fails to land the takedown. Collins throws a low kick, looking for Lok's leg but Lok calmly moves out of range. Collins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Lok keeping full guard, as Collins tries to pass. Lok is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lok is trying to control the action in half guard but Collins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lok is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Collins defends it well. Lok is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Collins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Collins. Collins keeping moving, preventing Lok from controlling successfully. Lok pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Collins is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Collins is trying to control the position but Lok postures up. Collins wants to stand but Lok is controlling the position. Lok looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lok is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Collins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lok can't do much from the bottom here. Collins looks up at the clock and then as Lok takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Collins smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lok manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Collins is trying to stand up here but Lok is controlling him well. Collins regains full guard. Nicely done. Collins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lok doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lok manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lok looking to sit in guard and control but Collins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lok will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Lok utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Collins stands up over Lok, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Collins advances position into side control!
