Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Blaam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nic Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ryan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Blaam moves in looking to clinch but Ryan pushes him off.
Ryan lands a nice looking body shot.
Blaam instigates a clinch.
Blaam tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Blaam blocks an elbow strike.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Blaam as Ryan tries to tie him up.
Blaam is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ryan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Blaam's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Blaam shoots in and drives through. Ryan sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Blaam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blaam closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Blaam lands in his opponent's guard.
Blaam trying to control the position from guard on top but Ryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryan wants to stand up but Blaam is controlling him.

Ryan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ryan is looking for a triangle here but Blaam uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Blaam prevents Ryan from escaping the position.
Blaam decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ryan to his feet.
Blaam shoots in and drives through. Ryan sprawls well.
Nic Ryan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ryan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Blaam will feel that in the morning.
Blaam is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice uppercut there from Ryan.
It looks like Tommy Blaam has been cut.
Ryan scores with a hook.
Ryan lands a big uppercut and Blaam crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Blaam looks OK. Ryan waves Blaam back to his feet!
Blaam is rocked!
Ryan closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Blaam out cold! Blaam corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nic Ryan!
Nic Ryan was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
