Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joaquin Saez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stan Reijkard! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Reijkard is trying to defend but Saez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Saez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Saez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Saez is taking a breather. Reijkard says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Saez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Saez is looking to advance position but Reijkard won't allow it. Saez uses his free foot to push down on Reijkard's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Reijkard. Saez controlling the position easily from mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Saez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reijkard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Reijkard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Saez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reijkard looks a forlorn figure.
Saez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saez in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reijkard is working to get back to half guard.

Saez has isolated one of Reijkard's arms. Reijkard looking to fight him off but Saez twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
