Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Galustyan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Dragon Warfist! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warfist lands a head kick!
It looks like Michael Galustyan has been cut. Galustyan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warfist sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Galustyan somewhat. A jab from Warfist misses. Galustyan slips a jab from Warfist. Warfist fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Galustyan checks it well. Warfist pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Galustyan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Galustyan missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Warfist keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Warfist can do anything to dispel that myth. Galustyan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Galustyan throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Warfist to regain full guard. Warfist has momentary wrist control but Galustyan slips an elbow through the middle. Warfist utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Warfist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Galustyan is looking to work some ground and pound but Warfist has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Warfist avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Galustyan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Warfist works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Galustyan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Galustyan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Galustyan throwing strikes from guard but Warfist blocks nicely. Warfist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Galustyan chips away with some ground and pound. Warfist controlling Galustyan's posture. Galustyan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Galustyan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Galustyan keeping full guard, as Warfist tries to pass. Galustyan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Warfist is controlling him. Galustyan pulls Warfist in close to prevent any damage. Warfist is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Warfist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Galustyan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Dragon Warfist hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Warfist listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Galustyan shoots for a double leg takedown but Warfist sprawls well. He's pushed Galustyan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Galustyan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Warfist's waist but Warfist gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Galustyan off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Galustyan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Warfist scores with a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Warfist pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Warfist has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Warfist misses with a hook. Galustyan ducked under it nicely. Dragon Warfist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Warfist connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Warfist dips to his left and cracks Galustyan with an uppercut!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crunch! Warfist slams his shin into Galustyan's torso. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Warfist finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Warfist is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Warfist throws a low kick but Galustyan avoids it. Michael Galustyan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Warfist throws a lazy right hand but Galustyan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A head kick misses from Warfist. Galustyan shoots in for a double leg but Warfist sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Galustyan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Dragon Warfist showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Michael Galustyan's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Warfist does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Galustyan closes the distance and clinches up with Warfist, looking for a takedown. Galustyan pushes Warfist against the cage but Warfist circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Warfist throws the kick towards the body but Galustyan avoids it. Galustyan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Warfist lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Warfist throws a solid leg kick but Galustyan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Warfist. Galustyan on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Warfist scores with a decent looking hook. Warfist throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Warfist misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Warfist feints and then cracks Galustyan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Galustyan down. That kick from Warfist tenderised Galustyan's leg. Galustyan is trying to keep his angry face on. Warfist throws a head kick that misses. Galustyan gets a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Galustyan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Warfist's head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Galustyan connects with a nice short shot to Warfist's temple. Galustyan thows a huge punch but Warfist dodges it nicely.

Galustyan is keen to just control but Warfist is a slippery customer. Warfist has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Galustyan is working away from the top position though. Galustyan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dragon Warfist is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
