Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peppers is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Day N Nite-Kid Cudi. Kyle Reese could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Julius Peppers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Reese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Julius Peppers!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese misses with a head kick.
Peppers on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Peppers throws a body punch but Reese moves out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Reese checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Reese keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Peppers sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Peppers misses with a hook
and Reese finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Reese checks a low kick from Peppers.
Peppers goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Reese lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Peppers at a distance.
Reese throws a sloppy head kick and Peppers moves out of range easily.
Peppers uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reese.
Peppers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Reese with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Peppers to score with a decent uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reese lands a body shot.
Peppers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice uppercut lands for Peppers. That snapped Reese's head back.
Peppers is looking to slow Reese down with leg kicks.
Reese throws a wild body kick that Peppers sees coming a mile off.
Reese misses the shot to the body.

Reese changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peppers tries to avoid it but Reese manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peppers to the ground. Peppers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peppers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Reese on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Peppers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reese manages to avoid it.

and Reese counters with a nice low kick that buckles Peppers's knee momentarily.
Peppers throws a body kick that misses.
Reese tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reese shoots in for a takedown but Peppers shows good takedown defense.
Peppers throws a head kick that Reese semi-blocks.
Peppers thows a body kick. Reese tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Peppers gets tackled into the cage by Reese. Reese maintains the clinch.
Reese misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Peppers tries a body shot but Reese blocks it.
Reese tries to pull guard but Peppers won't allow it.

Peppers lands with a short shot to the head.

Reese tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Peppers's elbow.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Reese.
Reese misses with a hook to the ribs.
Peppers dodges an elbow strike from Reese.
Peppers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Reese lands a right hand.
Reese tries to score a body lock takedown but Peppers shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

and Reese counters with a body kick that stops Peppers in his tracks momentarily.

Reese takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Peppers takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Reese lands a head kick!
Peppers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Reese lands a glancing blow to the side of Peppers's head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Peppers.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reese. Peppers does a little dance to reset his feet.
Peppers throws a low kick but Reese moves out of range easily.
Reese buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Peppers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reese.
Julius Peppers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peppers throws a body punch but Reese moves out of range.
Reese fails with an attempt to clinch.
Peppers feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Reeses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Peppers cracks the inside of Reese's front leg.
Reese moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Reese shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Peppers fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Reese has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Peppers throws the left hand but Reese avoids the punch easily.
Reese throws a leg kick which misses Peppers's front leg but catches the back leg as Peppers tries to avoid it.
Peppers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reese.
Reese tries to score with a low kick but Peppers moves his leg out of the way.
Peppers connects with a body shot.
Peppers goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Reese has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Peppers.
Peppers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Peppers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Reese uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Peppers.

Reese closes the distance and clinches.
Peppers tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Reese's elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Reese throws a punch but it's blocked by Peppers.
Reese avoiding damage as Peppers throws knees to the body.
Reese is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Peppers dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Peppers lands a glancing blow to the side of Reese's head.
Reese lands with a straight right. Peppers didn't see that one coming.
Peppers thows a body shot but no joy.
A big left from Peppers misses.
Reese is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peppers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Peppers missing with a left hand there. Reese was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Reese scores with a hook to the body. Peppers takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Reese shoots in looking for a takedown but Peppers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reese's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Peppers attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Reese throws a sloppy head kick and Peppers moves out of range easily.
Reese looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Reese. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Peppers misses with a series of wild punches.
Reese is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peppers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Peppers feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Reese's calf.

Reese is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Horrible takedown by Reese or perhaps it was just good defense by Peppers which made him look bad.

Reese looks for a takedown but Peppers sprawls well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Peppers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Peppers walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Reese checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Julius Peppers seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Peppers throws a right hand that Reese ducks under and follows up with a left that Reese also avoids with ease.
Peppers throws a sloppy head kick and Reese moves out of range easily.
Peppers pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reese feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Reese working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Peppers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Reese trying to control the position from guard on top but Peppers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reese accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reese has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Peppers wants to sweep but no luck.
Reese keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peppers's head.
Peppers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Reese is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Peppers has momentary wrist control but Reese slips an elbow through the middle.
Peppers wants to stand and escape but Reese is having none of it.
Peppers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Reese slips nicely into half guard.
Peppers wants to get back to full guard but Reese has mounted him!
Reese cracks Peppers with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Peppers bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Peppers advances position into side control!
Reese managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Peppers.
Reese manages to work his way to half guard, despite Peppers's best efforts.
Reese throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Reese blocking the ground and pound attempt from Peppers.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peppers is trying to control. Reese wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Reese wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Peppers is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Peppers stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Reese to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Julius Peppers will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Reese gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Oooooh!!! Peppers has knocked Reese down with a huge combo! Peppers steps away and waves a wobbly Reese back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Reese avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Oh Reese is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Peppers cracks Reese with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Reese falls to his knees and Peppers doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julius Peppers!
Julius Peppers really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Firebird Designs logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
