Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Break (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Break comes to the cage accompanied by Slippin. Damien Maia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Break!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damien Maia!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia stuffs the takedown.

Break shoots in and bounces Maia off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Maia looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Break is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Maia seems keen to control Break's posture.
Maia keeping moving, preventing Break from controlling successfully.
Break engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Break.
Maia tries to clinch but Break is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maia tries for a takedown but Break sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Break tries to clinch but Maia moves out of range.
Maia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Break.
Break gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Maia moves into the clinch.
Break wants to break free but Maia has control.
Maia jumps guard but Break stands there with Maia around his waist. Maia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Break pulls Maia into guard.
Break has his hands on Maia's head, controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Break not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Break.
Break tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maia swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Break. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maia fails to land the takedown.
Break slaps away a takedown attempt from Maia, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Maia lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Maia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Break pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Break looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Maia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Break slips nicely into half guard.
Break looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Maia is trying to get back to full guard.
Break not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Maia is looking to control Break's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Maia avoid being mounted?
Break seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Break is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Break is looking to advance position but Maia won't allow it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Break is keen to just control but Maia is a slippery customer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Well, if Break is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack Break just wasn't active enough.
Maia tries to clinch there but Break circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Break dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Break fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Break.
Maia throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Maia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Maia lands a high kick!

Break gets caught napping as Maia dives in and scores a takedown. Break manages to retain guard.
Maia postures up.
Break keeping moving, preventing Maia from controlling successfully.
Break is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Break has his feet on Maia's thighs here. He's pushed Maia off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Maia screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Break!
