Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaret Caston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seu Gil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seu Gil is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jaret Caston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Seu Gil! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caston misses with a head kick.

and Gil counters with a two punch combo. Caston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gil counters with a good, hard body kick but Caston shrugs it off. Caston looks to land a right hand but Gil moved out of range. Seu Gil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gil lands a nice shot to the body.
Gil with a lazy takedown attempt and Caston counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gil! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This has been an exciting period of action! Gil tries to improve position but can't. Gil takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gil is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Caston asserts his dominance and retains side control. Caston lands a nice forearm strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil trying to remain calm as Caston controls from the top position. Gil is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gil trying to remain calm as Caston controls from the top position. Caston in side control lands a decent elbow. Caston works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gil seems a little lost for a moment, as Caston dominates the positioning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gil takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Caston cracks Gil with an elbow. That is naaassty. Gil is looking for a sweep. Caston tries to move into full mount but can't pass Gil's legs. Gil is being controlled here. You can see the frustration on Gil's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gil pushes Caston away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Caston gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Caston politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Caston prefers to stall for the moment though. Caston scores with a couple of short elbows. Caston lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Gil tries to bench press Caston off him but Caston keeps the position. Gil can't do much from the bottom here. Caston cracks Gil with a big right hand but Gil just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caston cracks Gil with a big elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caston lands a few punches from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Gil taking punishment in the form of punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Caston scores with a couple of short elbows. Gil gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caston pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gil fails with a takedown attempt. Gil is looking to clinch but Caston is avoiding it.
Caston throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gil was covering up waiting for the punch and Caston finishes the takedown easily into guard. Caston engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Gil is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil has an active guard here but Caston has managed to pass into half guard.
Nice strikes from Caston there. Caston seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gil is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gil wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Caston drops an elbow to the side of Gil's head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Caston lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Caston controlling the action here. Gil wants to control but Caston is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caston controlling the pace. Caston scoring with strikes to the body and head. Caston content to control rather than advance. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Caston throws a head kick but Gil moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gil. Seu Gil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gil scores with a three punch combo!
Gil uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Caston. Gil gets caught flat footed, as Caston shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Caston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Caston prevents Gil from getting back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Caston sitting in guard here, content to control. Caston is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gil wants to clinch. A swing and a miss from Caston. Caston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Caston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gil manages to avoid it. A solid body kick from Gil. Gil fails with the takedown so Caston counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gil is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gil wants to pass to mount but Caston is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil trying to control from half guard but Caston is working away. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Caston wants to improve his position but Gil is controlling well.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Seu Gil. Caston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Caston avoids the head kick by Gil.
Caston fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gil sprawls well initially but Caston persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Caston is figuring out what he wants to do next. Caston scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Caston is nestled in close to Gil, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Caston is figuring out what he wants to do next. Gil slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caston controls from within his opponent's guard. Caston preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gil is trying to keep Caston in close.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jaret Caston wasn't doing enough on the ground. Caston is looking to score with low kicks. A head kick misses from Gil. Caston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gil shoots for a double leg takedown but Caston sprawls well. He's pushed Gil's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gil tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Caston manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gil fails with a takedown attempt. Jaret Caston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seu Gil. Gil takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Caston fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gil to the ground. Caston is now in Gil's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Jaret Caston showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Caston, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
