Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. Vega has chosen Dead N Gone as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

33 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Esteban Vega!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega tries to close the distance and clinch up but Connor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Connor ducks right into an uppercut from Vega.
Connor lands a nice looking body shot.
Connor throws a combination that misses
enabling Vega to counter with a crisp jab.
Connor just misses with a punch to the body.
Vega tries to clinch there but Connor circles away.
Vega avoids a punch combination nicely.
Connor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vega pinned against the cage. Vega gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Connor misses with a straight left.
Connor misses the shot to the body.
Connor swings for the body but Vega moves out of range.
Vega tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vega stuns Connor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Connor. Vega does a little dance to reset his feet.

Connor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vega moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vega takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Connor doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.
Connor just misses with a punch to the body.
Vega misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Connor.
Vega wants to clinch
and Connor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vega moves out of range of the body kick.
Vega scoring well with a low kick there.

Vega fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Connor.
Connor throws a nice head kick!
Connor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Esteban Vega is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Connor managing to block the knees to the body from Vega.

Connor gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Vega regains guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Connor is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Connor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Connor.
Connor lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Vega misses with an uppercut.
Connor closes the distance and clinches up with Vega, looking for a takedown. Connor pushes Vega against the cage but Vega circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vega throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Connor is looking to wear down Vega with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Vega throws a head kick that misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Connor. That snapped Vega's head back.
Vega ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Connor moves away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Vega bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Connor's head backwards.

Connor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vega.

Esteban Vega seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Vega lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Vega can't find room to land a body shot as Connor controls the action.
Vega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
