Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oliver John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Ludher! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ludher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
John gets caught napping as Ludher dives in and scores a takedown. John manages to retain guard. Ludher prevents John from getting back to his feet. Ludher throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. John is looking to stand up but Ludher isn't so interested in that idea. Ludher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ludher prevents John from getting back to his feet. Ludher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ludher makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ludher is in close to John's body, working some short punches and elbows. John wants to stand but Ludher is controlling the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ludher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ludher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ludher scores with a decent looking elbow strike. John is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. John keeping full guard, as Ludher tries to pass. John is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ludher trying to control the position from guard on top but John is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ludher is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OK we're going to have a standup here. David Ludher hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. John fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ludher manages to avoid it. John lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ludher circles away quickly and effectively. Ludher works over John's head and body with a nice combination. Ludher connects with a good right hand that stumbles John. John circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Ludher lands a head kick. John smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
John is rocked!
It looks like Oliver John has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. John takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Oh John is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ludher throws a monster overhand right that drops John! Ludher follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Ludher! Post fight, David Ludher stared into the camera and said 'I am here to finish fights. And I can promise all you fans that there will be no lay and pray in my fights.'.
