With a record of 13 - 8 - 2, fighting out of New York, Cha Cha!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Cha throws a half hearted mid kick.
Cha tries to land a leg kick but Castle saw it coming and moves away.
Castle checks a leg kick.
Castle misses with a wild body shot.
Castle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cha as he jumps to the side.
Cha misses with a low kick.
Castle fails to land the takedown.
Castle with a poor takedown
and Cha cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Castle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cha throws a leg kick that misses.
Castle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Cha counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Castle scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Castle keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Cha misses with a low kick as Castle jumps back.
Castle fails with the takedown

and Cha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Castle's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cha Cha hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Castle fails with the takedown
and Cha counters with a thumping low kick.
Cha throws a low kick but Castle avoids it.
Cha throws a head kick but Castle moves out of range.
Cha just misses with a punch to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cha leaves Castle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Castle dives in and scores a takedown into Cha's guard.

Cha has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Castle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Castle shoots in for a takedown but Cha shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Castle shoots in looking for a takedown but Cha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Castle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

so Cha counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cha bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cha slows the pace down.
Castle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Cha in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Cha lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Castle is pushing Cha's head away, looking to escape. Cha manages to hold on to the position though.
Cha is chipping away with strikes.
Cha laying and praying for a moment but Castle takes advantage and regains half guard.
Castle is trying to escape back to his feet but Cha uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Cha wants to control but Castle is keeping him busy.

Cha has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Castle is not content to let Cha control the position.
Cha works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Castle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cha is controlling him well.

Castle is rocked!
Cha scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Castle is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Cha can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
