Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clyde Renato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Ubereem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clyde Renato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alistair Ubereem!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ubereem throws a body punch but Renato moves out of range.
Renato throws a hook but Ubereem blocks it.
A jab lands there for Renato.

Ubereem tries to sprawl but Renato drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Renato is working for a kimura but Ubereem is defending it quite comfortably.
Ubereem has hold of Renato's hands but Renato slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Renato is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Renato is working for a submission of some sort.

Renato is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Renato trying to control the action but Ubereem is working from the bottom.
Renato sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ubereem defending well though.

Ubereem looks like he's trying to stand up.
Renato seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ubereem does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Renato swings around for an armbar but Ubereem sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Renato's guard.

Renato is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Renato is looking for a triangle but Ubereem pushes his legs off easily.
Renato is pulling down on Ubereem's head to control his posture.

Renato has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ubereem can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Renato tries to bum rush Ubereem with a series of wild strikes but Ubereem uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Alistair Ubereem is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Renato is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ubereem is just riding it out for now. Renato eventually gives up the hold.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Renato takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ubereem lands a leg kick that knocks Renato off balance momentarily.
Renato bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ubereem goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Renato connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ubereem's hands.
Renato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ubereem but Ubereem pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Renato tries to pull guard but Ubereem holds him up against the cage and eventually Renato drops back down to his feet.

Renato is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ubereem is keeping busy.

Ubereem escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ubereem scores with a head kick. Renato tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Ubereem lands a leg kick that knocks Renato off balance momentarily.
Renato looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Alistair Ubereem has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Renato takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Ubereem throws a leg kick which misses Renato's front leg but catches the back leg as Renato tries to avoid it.

Renato avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ubereem lands with a shot to the body.
Ubereem lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ubereem pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Clyde Renato is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Whack! Ubereem lands a heavy head kick that drops Renato. The ref tackles Ubereem to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Renato was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Alistair Ubereem!
Our winner, Alistair Ubereem, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
