Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lala Cobain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Carter! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter wants to slow Cobain down by chopping away at his legs. Carter tries a head kick but it misses.
Cobain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cobain breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cobain blocks a low kick nicely. Cobain lands a jab-cross combination. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carter. Cobain drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Carter looks winded! Cobain is stalling in the full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cobain cracks Carter with a solid left hand. Cobain stands up from guard. Let's bang! Cobain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Cobain. Cobain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cobain lands with a punch from half guard. Carter wants to control but Cobain is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cobain in particular looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cobain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cobain. Cobain not doing much here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter tries to clinch but Cobain moves away and Cobain counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cobain not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cobain postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Cobain is stalling in the full guard. Cobain passes Carter's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Well, if Cobain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cobain is staying tight to Carter's torso, preventing him from escaping. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cobain tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cobain has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Carter taking punishment in the form of punches.

Lala Cobain dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Cobain closes the distance and pushes Carter back into the cage. Cobain has Carter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cobain pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Carter tumbling to the mat - Cobain dives into Carter's guard. Cobain slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cobain looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lala Cobain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee asks Cobain politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cobain prefers to stall for the moment though. Carter is breathing heavily. Cobain's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cobain lands a few punches from side control. Cobain controlling from side mount. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cobain looks up at the clock and then as Carter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cobain smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Cobain decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carter to his feet. Cobain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cobain content to stall in guard here. Carter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cobain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Cobain gets to his feet - Carter follows without any prompting. Lala Cobain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cobain leaves Carter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Carter enables Cobain to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Cobain seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Cobain is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carter can do to turn this around?
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cobain with a nice head shot there. Cobain lands a couple of decent looking shots. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cobain not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cobain pushing down on Carter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lala Cobain dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Cobain shoots in and gets a takedown into Carter's guard. Carter tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cobain sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cobain gets to his feet. Carter looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Cobain moves into the clinch. Cobain pushes Carter back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Cobain works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Carter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cobain controls the pace. Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cobain scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cobain works a leg free and moves into half guard. Cobain passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carter! Cobain in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
