The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punchon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Taylor drops his hands momentarily and Punchon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Taylor misses with a straight right.
Taylor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Taylor.
Punchon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Taylor connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Some wild striking there from Punchon.
Punchon connects with a crisp jab.
Taylor throws an overhand right that lands on Punchon's shoulder, as Punchon tries to avoid the shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Punchon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Meldrick Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Punchon shoots in and drives through. Taylor sprawls well.
Punchon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Taylor was well out of range. Poor timing from Punchon.
Taylor swings for the body but Punchon moves out of range.
Taylor misses with the combination.
Punchon throws a series of punches but Taylor moves out of range.

Punchon has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Punchon lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Taylor slips a straight right by Punchon.
Taylor scores with a sloppy right hand. Punchon should have avoided that one.
Taylor gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Taylor tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Punchon is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Taylor buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Taylor!! Taylor is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Punchon throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ima Punchon!
