Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavus Adolphus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kev Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adolphus scores with a takedown into Hawkins's guard.
Hawkins wants to stand and escape but Adolphus is having none of it.

Adolphus drops back looking for a leg! Hawkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hawkins manages to kick Adolphus off! Adolphus jumps back into Hawkins's guard.
Adolphus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hawkins wants to get back to his feet but Adolphus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Adolphus in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hawkins wants to stand and escape but Adolphus is having none of it.

Hawkins has momentary wrist control but Adolphus slips an elbow through the middle.

Hawkins wants to stand up but Adolphus is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adolphus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hawkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adolphus is controlling him.

Hawkins manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Adolphus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hawkins swivels and escapes.
Adolphus tries for a takedown but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hawkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hawkins leaves Adolphus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavus Adolphus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Adolphus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawkins pinned against the cage. Hawkins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Adolphus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hawkins tries to avoid it but Adolphus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hawkins to the ground. Hawkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hawkins misses with a hook.
Adolphus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hawkins cracks Adolphus with a good jab.


It looks like Gustavus Adolphus has been cut.
Adolphus doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hawkins counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Adolphus is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Hawkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hawkins is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Adolphus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jab, jab by Hawkins - just one landing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Adolphus misses with a takedown
and Hawkins scores with a counter punch that sends Adolphus to the canvas! Hawkins smells blood - he's punishing Adolphus with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Adolphus has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kev Hawkins!
Kev Hawkins seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
