Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghiorghos Papadopoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papadopoulos comes to the cage accompanied by Robocop Theme by Basil Polidouris. Piotr Rasputin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piotr Rasputin ! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasputin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rasputin showed some decent athleticism there. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Rasputin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rasputin stops Papadopoulos from getting back to his feet.
Papadopoulos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rasputin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Papadopoulos on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rasputin is trying to control. Papadopoulos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Papadopoulos keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rasputin controlling the action here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Papadopoulos looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rasputin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Papadopoulos prevents any damage by holding on tight. Papadopoulos working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Papadopoulos wants to try and get back to his feet. Papadopoulos is working to get back to half guard.
Papadopoulos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Papadopoulos tries to get out of the position. Rasputin unloading with bombs! Papadopoulos is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Papadopoulos is in all sorts of trouble here.
The referee warns Papadopoulos that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Papadopoulos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rasputin on the ground. Rasputin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rasputin lands a nice shot to the head. BOOM! Rasputin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Papadopoulos is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Papadopoulos is bucking up trying to escape but Rasputin cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rasputin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Papadopoulos is rocked! Rasputin looking to control and managing it successfully. Rasputin landing strikes from the mount. Oh Papadopoulos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Papadopoulos wants to get back to his feet.
Papadopoulos seems to have got his legs back now. Papadopoulos sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Papadopoulos is trying to stand.
Papadopoulos trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Papadopoulos is breathing heavily. Rasputin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Papadopoulos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rasputin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Rasputin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Papadopoulos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Rasputin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Papadopoulos wants to get back to his feet. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rasputin connects with a nice short shot to Papadopoulos's temple. Rasputin works his foot free and advances to mount. Rasputin landing strikes from the mount and Papadopoulos is in trouble! Rasputin postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Papadopoulos out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rasputin goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Piotr Rasputin ! Piotr Rasputin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
