Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshawl Faulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Kaervosk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alek Kaervosk! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kaervosk looks to land a combination but Faulk avoids it well. Kaervosk misses with a double jab.

Faulk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kaervosk is trying to control the action in half guard but Faulk is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Faulk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Faulk is trying to get back to full guard. Kaervosk throwing shots but Faulk is blocking nicely. Faulk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kaervosk pulls his head out easily. Faulk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kaervosk is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaervosk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Faulk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaervosk has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Faulk's face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kaervosk chips away with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kaervosk passes easily into side control. Nice work.
