Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Sakkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakkinen comes to the cage accompanied by Rotten Sound - Burden. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Mikko Sakkinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nixon! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakkinen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sakkinen fails in his attempt to clinch. Sakkinen clinches. A short body shot lands from Sakkinen as the two fighters clinch.
Sakkinen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nixon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sakkinen manages to avoid it. Sakkinen looks to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Sakkinen clinches up against the cage. Sakkinen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Nixon blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A short right from Sakkinen. This has been an exciting period of action! Sakkinen prevents Nixon from breaking the clinch. Sakkinen scores with a nice hook to the head. Sakkinen wants a takedown but no success here.

Sakkinen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Nixon counters with a two punch combo. An inside leg kick lands from Nixon. Sakkinen slips a jab and a cross from Nixon.
Sakkinen rushes Nixon and presses him up against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sakkinen lands with a left to the head. A nice glancing elbow lands by Nixon. Nixon can't find room to land a body shot as Sakkinen controls the action.

Sakkinen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nixon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nixon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sakkinen circles away. Jab, jab by Nixon - just one landing. Sakkinen tries to clinch up and Nixon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nixon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sakkinen, pushing him back against the cage. Nixon blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Sakkinen gets caught flat footed, as Nixon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nixon looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nixon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sakkinen's head. Nixon throwing strikes but missing. Sakkinen is looking to stand up but Nixon isn't so interested in that idea. Sakkinen trying to keep a closed guard but Nixon is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nixon trying to control the position from guard on top but Sakkinen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nixon postures up in Sakkinen's guard and throws a big left but Sakkinen blocks it. Nixon throws a strike but Sakkinen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nixon has his foot on Sakkinen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sakkinen works his way back into a safe position though. This has been an exciting period of action! Sakkinen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sakkinen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sakkinen trying to control but Nixon is working from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sakkinen connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Nixon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nixon throws out a loose jab but Sakkinen uses good head movement to avoid it. Nixon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sakkinen as he avoids it easily. Nixon cracks Sakkinen with a good jab. A slow jab from Sakkinen misses its intended target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Nixon. That snapped Sakkinen's head back.
Nixon swats away the attempt to clinch by Sakkinen. Sakkinen avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nixon closes the distance and lands a one-two. Sakkinen wants to clinch. Nixon gets the takedown into side control. Sakkinen wants to control but Nixon postures up. Sakkinen is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. You can see the frustration on Sakkinen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Nixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakkinen sprawls well. He's pushed Nixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Sakkinen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sakkinen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nixon circles away quickly and effectively. Sloppy strikes from Nixon. Those never looked like landing. Sakkinen closes the distance but Nixon moves to the side and Nixon counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sakkinen's knee momentarily. Sakkinen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nixon paws at him with a jab and circles away. The ground and pound from Nixon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nixon wants to control but Sakkinen is keeping him busy. Nixon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nixon in the domination position with Sakkinen hanging on. Sakkinen tries to buck Nixon off but Nixon is having none of it. Sakkinen wants to get back to his feet. Nixon is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
