Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cappy Christian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Smith! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christian fails with a takedown attempt. Smith looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Christian dives in and grabs Smith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes down on Christian's head and hops out. Christian slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat. Christian misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cappy Christian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Christian moves into the clinch successfully.
Smith takes an elbow to the forehead. Smith swings wildly with an uppercut but Christian uses good head movement to avoid it. Smith jumps guard but Christian stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Christian breaks the clinch.
Christian pushes Smith up against the cage in a clinch. Christian putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Smith in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Christian lands a nice elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christian creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Smith's defenses. Christian connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Mike Smith has been cut. Christian works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Smith is still in real trouble! Can Christian finish him? If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Christian keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Christian loads up on a big left hand. Smith felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Christian looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Smith can't hide his disappointment, as Christian celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cappy Christian! Cappy Christian spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
