The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delfino scores with a hook.

Tyler tries to escape but Delfino is in control.

Tyler needs to keep his hands up - Delfino had a free shot at his head there.
Delfino throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Tyler avoids the body shot from Delfino.

Tyler darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Delfino is looking for a sweep. Tyler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Delfino has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tyler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tyler is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Delfino reverses the position - he's now on top in Tyler's guard.
Delfino chips away with some ground and pound.

Tyler uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Delfino blocks the body kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tyler throws a jab but it's blocked by Delfino.

Delfino shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Delfino decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tyler, up you get!
Tyler throws a right hand that Delfino ducks under and follows up with a left that Delfino also avoids with ease.
Delfino connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tyler. Tyler circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Delfino lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tyler's sensitive parts.

Delfino lands a nice shot that snaps Tyler's head back.

Delfino sizes up Tyler with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Delfino bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Delfino shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Delfino showed some decent athleticism there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Delfino thows a huge punch but Tyler dodges it nicely.

Tyler tries to kick Delfino off but Delfino keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Delfino seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Delfino winds up and cracks Tyler with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Tyler looks like he's trying to stand up.
Delfino is trying to control. Tyler wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Delfino stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Delfino shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tyler is trying to defend but Delfino finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Delfino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Delfino changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tyler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Delfino decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tyler to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Delfino. Tyler does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tyler goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Delfino throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tyler was covering up waiting for the punch and Delfino finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
