Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Victory by Viking Quest. Anderson Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Chase shows good takedown defense.
Chase works Silva's body with a nice hook.

Chase looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Chase trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom.

Chase moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Silva.

Chase tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Silva tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Silva wants to control but Chase is having none of it.

Chase is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silva has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Chase is breathing heavily.
Silva manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Silva wants to improve his position but Chase is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Chase slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chase trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva has his foot on Chase's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chase works his way back into a safe position though.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A left and a right from Chase both land. Nice combination.

Silva is staying active underneath Chase, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chase frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Silva is looking to improve his position but Chase isn't that keen on the idea.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva works his foot free and advances to mount.
Silva prevents Chase from getting the reversal.
Silva looking to ground and pound but Chase is blocking nicely.
Chase is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Silva has control of Chase's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chase regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Silva wants to control the pace but Chase is squirming around nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Silva has hold of Chase's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Chase manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Chase stuffs the takedown.

and Chase cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnny Chase will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Silva connects with a nasty looking knee right to Chase's face.

Chase breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chase lands with an overhand left.
Chase scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Chase misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chase controls the pace.

Chase is sitting in close to Silva's body. Silva has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Chase is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Chase is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Silva.
