Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Verdmont Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bronson comes to the cage accompanied by So long and thanks for all the fish. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Verdmont Bronson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Smalls! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smalls fails with a takedown attempt. Bronson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smalls. Smalls throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bronson's head. Bronson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Smalls's head backwards. Bronson throws a hook but Smalls blocks it. Nice shot lands for Bronson. Smalls fails to land the takedown. Verdmont Bronson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Smalls. Bronson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Smalls was well out of range. Poor timing from Bronson. Bronson takes a swing at Smalls's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smalls swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Smalls jabs Bronson to the body, keeping him at a distance. Smalls misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Smalls counters with a series of strikes. Bronson will be more careful next time no doubt. Bronson really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Bronson throws a hook but Smalls blocks it. Bronson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. No joy there for Smalls, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smalls bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bronson tries to clinch there but Smalls circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Smalls. Bronson does a little dance to reset his feet. Reggie Smalls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bronson swings widly with a right hand
and Smalls counters with a single leg into guard. Bronson didn't expect that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smalls is fighting to break Bronson's control of his arms but Bronson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Smalls throws a big right hand that misses. Smalls wants to control from the top but Bronson keeps moving. Smalls throwing strikes but missing. Smalls trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smalls postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smalls throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bronson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bronson wants to stand and escape but Smalls is having none of it. Smalls looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bronson keeping moving, preventing Smalls from controlling successfully. Smalls landing with the ground and pound. Smalls throwing strikes from guard but Bronson blocks nicely. Smalls postures up in Bronson's guard and throws a big left but Bronson blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smalls missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bronson looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smalls accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smalls looking to sit in guard and control but Bronson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Bronson preventing the sweep. Smalls not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bronson tries to stand but Smalls is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reggie Smalls dominated that round. That's time! Bronson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smalls connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bronson momentarily.
Smalls goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Smalls pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A shot to the body from Bronson misses and Smalls counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Smalls shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bronson as he jumps to the side. Smalls ducks under a wild hook from Bronson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smalls looks to land a combination but Bronson avoids it well. Bronson looks to score with a jab to the body but Smalls is just out of range. Reggie Smalls is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bronson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Smalls. Bronson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smalls. Bronson cracks Smalls with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Smalls is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bronson. Smalls ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Bronson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Smalls shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bronson pinned against the cage. Bronson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Verdmont Bronson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Smalls.

It looks like Reggie Smalls has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smalls fails with a takedown attempt. Verdmont Bronson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bronson misses with a wild body shot. Bronson misses with a body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smalls shoots in and bounces Bronson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Smalls has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bronson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smalls is controlling him. Bronson trying to keep a closed guard but Smalls is proving a slippery customer.
Smalls is looking to work some ground and pound but Bronson has wrist control. Bronson wants to stand but Smalls is controlling the position. Smalls stands up over Bronson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smalls trying to control but Bronson is working from the bottom. Smalls might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bronson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Bronson pushes Smalls off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Smalls uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smalls shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bronson pinned against the cage. Bronson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Smalls misses the shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Reggie Smalls will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Reggie Smalls's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Bronson misses with a right hand and Smalls decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bronson's guard. Bronson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bronson misses with an uppercut. Smalls saw that one coming. Smalls shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bronson's guard. Bronson controlling the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smalls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bronson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Smalls sitting in guard here, content to control. Smalls wants to control from the top but Bronson keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bronson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Bronson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bronson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smalls counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Smalls throws a right and a left that both miss. Verdmont Bronson is winning the standup battle so far. Smalls fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smalls misses with a body kick. Smalls feints and as Bronson raises his hands in defense, Smalls changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Verdmont Bronson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reggie Smalls has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bronson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smalls is controlling him. Smalls in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bronson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smalls. Smalls is pushing down on Bronson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bronson is fighting to maintain full guard but Smalls has managed to sneak the leg through. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice strikes from Smalls there. Smalls is trying to work for a kimura but Bronson is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smalls wants to take a breather but Bronson is having none of it. Smalls sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bronson defending well though. Bronson is trying to stand up here but Smalls is controlling him well. Smalls winds up and cracks Bronson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Smalls missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Smalls is trying to control the action in half guard but Bronson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Smalls is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bronson is just riding it out for now. Smalls eventually gives up the hold. Bronson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smalls throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Bronson is looking for a sweep. Smalls is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bronson is positioning himself well to prevent Smalls advancing to mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bronson actively working from the bottom here. Smalls tries to pass to full mount but Bronson defends it.
And that's the end of the fight! Reggie Smalls comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Smalls winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
