Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Trick Daddy - Let's Go ft Twista & Lil Jon blaring out of the sound system. Bull is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Black Label Society - Fire It Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oscar Diaz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Bull! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz slips a jab from Bull. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bull swats him away and circles back towards the center. Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss. Bull gets a takedown into half guard. Bull looking for a submission but Diaz manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Bull content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bull postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Diaz can't keep his opponent in guard - Bull advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bull seems to be working for a kimura but Diaz defends the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Bull is pushing down on Diaz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Diaz is fighting to maintain full guard but Bull has managed to sneak the leg through. Diaz tries to get to full guard but Bull has control of the leg. Bull thows a huge punch but Diaz dodges it nicely.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Diaz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bull not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bull sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Diaz defending well though. Roy Bull dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Diaz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bull! Bull sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Diaz is looking to advance position but Bull won't allow it. Diaz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bull is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bull is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Bull controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself. Bull is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea. Bull has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bull looking for a sweep. Not yet Bull, not yet. Diaz pushes down on Bull's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bull is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bull moves into full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz wants to control from the top but Bull keeps moving.

But no, Bull has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Diaz but great work by Bull.

Bull tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Bull working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bull landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz is trying to control Bull's posture but Bull avoids it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bull cracks Diaz with a big right hand but Diaz just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Diaz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bull asserts his dominance and retains side control. Bull works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Oscar Diaz will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
The fighters circling - Bull throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Diaz throws a shot from downtown. Bull moves away and avoids it. Bull misses with an uppercut. Bull throws a shot from downtown. Diaz moves away and avoids it. Bull tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diaz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bull somewhat. Bull doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bull tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bull looks to land a left hand but Diaz moved out of range nicely. Bull pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bull loads up on a big right hand but Diaz slips the punch. Bull bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bull looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range. Bull throws a head kick that misses. Diaz clinches up with Bull and pushes him back against the cage. Bull has clasped his hands together around Diaz's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Ground and pound from Bull. Diaz taking some punishment here, with Bull in his half guard. Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bull is working away from the top position though.

Roy Bull really dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bull lands a jab. Bull lands a lovely overhand right. Bull with a hook. Bull swings and misses with a shot to the body and Diaz counters with a slapping leg kick. Bull throws a leg kick but Diaz sees it coming and moves out of range. Bull ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Diaz checks a low kick from Bull. Bull swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Diaz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bull misses with a takedown and Diaz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Diaz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bull lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Roy Bull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A jab from Bull misses. Bull cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Diaz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Diaz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bull, as that shot connected.
Diaz rushes Bull and presses him up against the cage. Bull using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Diaz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Diaz takes an elbow to the forehead. Bull pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bull misses with a looping right. Bull throws a hook but Diaz avoids it easily. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Bull swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Bull. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Diaz checks a low kick from Bull. Bull thows a body shot but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bull throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Bull connects with a jab. Bull misses with a hook. Diaz ducked under it nicely. Diaz connects with the punch. Bull throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bull is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Bull avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Diaz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A shot to the liver by Bull. Beautiful body shot. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bull paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bull takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Decent striking displayed by Bull there. This has been an exciting period of action! Diaz throws a leg kick but Bull sees it coming and checks it nicely. Bull tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diaz was well out of range. Poor timing from Bull. Bull throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Diaz on the side of the head. Bull looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well. Diaz tries to clinch up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bull's corner calls for a 1-2. Bull obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Roy Bull comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bull has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Roy Bull decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
