PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milo Coors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Milo Coors!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxer thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Coors if he has to take too many more of those.
Coors dives in and grabs Boxer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boxer pushes down on Coors's head and hops out.
Boxer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Coors shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boxer sprawls well. Boxer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Coors gets slowly back to his feet.
An inside leg kick from Boxer misses.
Boxer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A looping hook to the body misses from Boxer. Coors does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boxer misses with an uppercut. Coors saw that one coming.
A decent looking cross lands there for Boxer.
Coors jabs Boxer right on the nose. Boxer blinks but takes it well.
Coors shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boxer but Boxer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Joe Boxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milo Coors.
Coors shoots in for a takedown but Boxer shows good takedown defense.
Coors shoots in for a double leg but Boxer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Coors gets the takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Coors swings around for an armbar but Boxer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Coors's guard.

Coors has momentary wrist control but Boxer slips an elbow through the middle.

Coors had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boxer defends it easily.
Boxer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boxer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Boxer lands a couple of elbows.
Boxer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coors works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Coors looking for a sweep. Not yet Coors, not yet.
Boxer is looking to work some ground and pound but Coors has wrist control.
Coors trying to keep a closed guard but Boxer is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boxer throwing strikes but missing.

Boxer postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boxer throws an elbow that misses. Coors uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Boxer's guard. Nice move by Coors!
Coors tries to free his leg and advance position but Boxer is retaining full guard.
Coors trying to control the position from guard on top but Boxer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Coors stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boxer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boxer wants to stand and escape but Coors is having none of it.
Boxer trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boxer misses with a double jab.

Coors bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Coors remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Boxer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coors has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Coors tries to advance to mount but can't.

Coors looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Boxer is looking to regain half guard here but Coors keeps moving and retains side control.

Coors tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coors has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boxer prevents Coors from moving into mount.
Boxer is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coors has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coors is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Boxer has escaped the position, nice work there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
You can see the frustration on Boxer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Boxer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Coors shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boxer as he jumps to the side.

Boxer slips under a jab from Coors.
Boxer stuffs the takedown attempt from Coors. Coors gets slowly back to his feet.
Joe Boxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milo Coors.
Coors looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boxer is fending him off so far but Coors persists. Nope, Boxer circles away and we're back to standing.
Boxer throws a body punch but Coors moves out of range.
Boxer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Coors backs up against the cage.
Coors has a takedown stuffed.
Boxer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Boxer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Coors.
Coors moves out of range as Boxer throws a body kick.
Coors tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boxer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Coors somewhat.
No luck for Coors with that takedown attempt.
Coors tries for a takedown but Boxer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Boxer throws a sloppy head kick and Coors moves out of range easily.

Boxer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Coors is out of range and Boxer settles back down.

Boxer moves out of range of the strikes.
Boxer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Boxer lands a glancing blow to the side of Coors's head.
Coors is still on wobbly legs! Can Boxer finish him?
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coors.
A swing and a miss from Boxer.
Coors seems to have recovered his senses.
Coors fails with the takedown.

BOOM! Boxer lands a beautiful left hook that drops Coors. Coors tries to recover but Boxer is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Coors lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Boxer!
