Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Random Task!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Task tried to score with a low kick but Cleaver checks it.
Task bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cleaver throws a right and a left that Task avoids nicely.

Cleaver scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cleaver stands up out of the half guard.
Cleaver throws a series of punches but Task avoids them all with ease.

Task clinches.
Task landing knees to the body.
Cleaver is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Task has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cleaver avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Task with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Randall Cleaver has been cut.
Task misses with a knee to the head.
Cleaver blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Task gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cleaver is staying active underneath Task, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Task works his way into full mount!
Task looking to control but Cleaver is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Cleaver tries to buck Task off but he can't manage it.
Task landing strikes from the mount and Cleaver is in trouble!

Task stands up from mount. Strange move.
Task darts in trying to clinch
and Cleaver counters with a series of strikes. Task will be more careful next time no doubt.
Task tries to clinch but Cleaver is having none of it.
Task tries to clinch up but Cleaver circles away and keeps his distance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cleaver tries to score a power double leg takedown but Task sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cleaver somewhat.
Cleaver lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Task takes the fight into the clinch.
Cleaver blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Task connects with a nasty looking knee right to Cleaver's face.
Task changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cleaver fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Task fails with an attempt to clinch.
Task ducks under a wild hook from Cleaver.
Task staying out of range there.
Cleaver throws a nice looking combination but Task bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cleaver lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Random Task has been cut.
Task tries to clinch
and Cleaver counters with a nice uppercut.
Cleaver lands a two punch combo.
Cleaver lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


Task is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Task.
Task is still on wobbly legs! Can Cleaver finish him?
Randall Cleaver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Random Task.

Cleaver closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cleaver lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cleaver wants to stand but Task has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Task looking to control.

Cleaver stands up and waves to Task to follow him.
Some wild striking there from Cleaver.
Nice defenses there by Task.
Cleaver keeps the fight on the outside.
Cleaver fails to land with a series of punches.
Task moves in looking to clinch but Cleaver pushes him off.
Task tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cleaver paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Task uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cleaver.
Cleaver circles away from the clinch attempt.
Task is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Task seems to have recovered his senses.

Task feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Task is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Task slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cleaver is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Task has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Task controls the position.

Task is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Cleaver is trying to escape and Task transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Cleaver is forced to tap! Nice work there by Task! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Random Task!
