The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Poulter. Halonen shrugs it off though.

Halonen fails with the takedown.
Poulter connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Poulter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Poulter throws a push kick but Halonen slaps the foot to one side.
Halonen tries to clinch but Poulter moves away
and Poulter counters with a nice body kick.
Poulter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Halonen shoots for a double leg takedown but Poulter sprawls well. He's pushed Halonen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Halonen counters with an outside leg kick.

A head kick from Poulter lands but Halonen takes it in his stride.

It looks like Tarja Halonen has been cut.
Halonen tries for a takedown but Poulter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tarja Halonen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Poulter walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Halonen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Poulter is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Halonen has his hands clasped together but Poulter extends an breaks Halonen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Poulter.
