Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Heart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares has chosen Flo Rida- 54321 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brett Heart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Palhares ! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Heart crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Palhares - the referee stops the clock and Heart gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Palhares . Heart manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Palhares scoring well with a low kick there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Heart leaves Palhares with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Palhares stalks Heart and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Heart's face. Heart staggers backwards, shaken. Palhares throws a head kick but Heart moves out of range.
Palhares tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Palhares somewhat. Palhares is looking to slow Heart down with leg kicks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palhares dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Heart. That did some damage! Palhares misses with a shot to the body and Heart counters with a nice double leg into guard. Palhares has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Palhares looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Palhares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Heart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palhares is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Heart is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Heart landing some decent shots from guard. Heart with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Heart scoring with punches to the head and body. Palhares is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Heart cracks Palhares with a solid left hand. Heart postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Heart trying to control the position from guard on top but Palhares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Heart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Heart is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Heart wants to stand but Palhares is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Brett Heart will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
