Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bk bk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anderson Alves!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
bk keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Alves wants to land a leg kick but bk is out of range.
Alves showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from bk.
Alves scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Alves moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
bk has his takedown stuffed
and bk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

bk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Alves stands and throws bk's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Alves is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alves cracks bk with a big right hand but bk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Alves scores with a couple of short elbows.
Alves is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down bk's shoulder. That is not cool.
bk wants to control but Alves postures up.
Alves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, bk has escaped the position, nice work there.
Alves is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Alves might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Alves is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. bk looks calm but he's in trouble here. Alves gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. bk is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Alves lets go of the hold and bk can pop his arm back in it's socket.
