Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mitchell Pearsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pearsen fails in his attempt to clinch.

Susi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pearsen pushes Susi off looking to stand but Susi dives back in and keeps control.

Susi is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pearsen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pearsen!
Susi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pearsen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Susi.
Susi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Susi tries to get to full guard but Pearsen has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearsen passes into side control, despite Susi's attempt to control the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pearsen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Susi has escaped the position, nice work there.

Susi shoots in but Pearsen avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Susi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pearsen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pearsen and Susi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pearsen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Susi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pearsen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pearsen tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Susi's elbow.
Pearsen breaks the clinch.
Susi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pearsen.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Susi.
Susi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pearsen avoids it really well and circles away.

and Susi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pearsen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Susi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pearsen swivels and escapes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Susi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pearsen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pearsen misses with a body punch.
Susi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Susi jumps guard but Pearsen stands there with Susi around his waist. Susi gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pearsen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Susi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pearsen escapes and throws Susi's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Susi regains half guard.
Pearsen stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Susi to get to his feet.

Pearsen wants to clinch up but Susi keeps it at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Pearsen as Susi shoots in.
Susi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pearsen sprawls well. Pearsen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Susi gets slowly back to his feet.

Susi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pearsen walks away with a smile on his face. Susi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Pearsen counters with a stiff right hand.
Pearsen wants to clinch.
Pearsen doesn't manage to clinch there - Susi circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Susi.
Pearsen clinches with his opponent.
Pearsen is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Pearsen stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Pearsen gets through Susi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Pearsen lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Susi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pearsen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pearsen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pearsen!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mitchell Pearsen.
I think Pearsen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
