Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Imran Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Imran Khan!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dir shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense.
Khan tries to clinch but Dir moves out of range.
Haral Dir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dir paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dir pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Khan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Khan misses with a hook.
Dir wants to clinch.
Dir takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Dir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dir is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Khan.
Khan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Dir goes for a takedown in the clinch but Khan prevents it.
Khan tries to break free but Dir pushes him back against the cage.
Khan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Dir breaks the clinch.
Dir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Khan tries to avoid it but Dir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Khan to the ground. Khan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Khan tries to close the distance and clinch but Dir swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Haral Dir wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Khan swings wildly with an uppercut but Dir uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dir is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Khan landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Dir trying to control the position but instead, Khan has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dir into the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dir drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Khan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dir.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Khan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Khan enables Dir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Khan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
