Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Moreira!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez tries to clinch but Moreira moves out of range.
Martinez misses with a wild combination.
Martinez throws a body kick that misses.
Moreira avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Martinez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Richard Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martinez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Moreira stuns Martinez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Moreira will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Moreira jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Martinez throws a leg kick
and Moreira cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A nice inside leg kick there by Martinez. That's going to slow Moreira down.
Martinez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Martinez misses with an uppercut.

Good leg kick by Martinez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Martinez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Moreira throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Martinez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Daniel Moreira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Martinez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Moreira to the ground. Martinez is now in Moreira's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Moreira is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Martinez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Moreira's guard.
Moreira is in trouble now - Martinez has advanced to mount!
Moreira is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Martinez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Moreira can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moreira is bucking up trying to escape but Martinez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Moreira is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Moreira is looking to get to half guard.

Moreira is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Martinez throwing strikes here but Moreira is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Martinez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It looks like Daniel Moreira has been cut.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Moreira tries to reverse the position but Martinez maintains control.
Moreira is still in real trouble! Can Martinez finish him?
Martinez connects with a bit shot that sees Moreira covering up! More strikes from Martinez and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Martinez is our winner by TKO!
