Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kato Yamamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Dos Santos!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dos Santos duly obliges.
Yamamoto takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Yamamoto cracks Dos Santos with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dos Santos throws a nice looking combination but Yamamoto bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Yamamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dos Santos paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Yamamoto counters by moving into the clinch.

Yamamoto wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Yamamoto goes for a takedown attempt but Dos Santos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Yamamoto tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dos Santos just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dos Santos is trying to break the clinch but Yamamoto is controlling him.
Yamamoto struggles to land a body shot inside as Dos Santos controls his hands.
Dos Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yamamoto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dos Santos's efforts to push away.
Dos Santos tries to break the clinch but Yamamoto is controlling the position.
Yamamoto is looking for a takedown.

Yamamoto successfully pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dos Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Yamamoto gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dos Santos looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Yamamoto passes into half guard.
Yamamoto perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yamamoto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Yamamoto is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Dos Santos is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
