Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, JJ Kamahawe Ole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ike Turner! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Kamahawe Ole moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Turner tries to close the distance and clinch but Kamahawe Ole swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Turner tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kamahawe Ole counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Turner throws a leg kick which misses Kamahawe Ole's front leg but catches the back leg as Kamahawe Ole tries to avoid it. Kamahawe Ole cracks Turner with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Kamahawe Ole avoids the head kick by Turner.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kamahawe Ole blocks the body kick.
Kamahawe Ole fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner misses with a kick to the body.
Turner has Kamahawe Ole up against the ropes in a clinch.
Kamahawe Ole is trying to break the clinch but Turner is controlling him. Turner keeps control of Kamahawe Ole as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kamahawe Ole tries to break free but Turner pushes him back against the ropes. Turner is trying to maintain a safe position but Kamahawe Ole gets an underhook and turns Turner into the ropes. Turner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kamahawe Ole looks to land a combination. Turner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Turner throws a lazy head kick letting Kamahawe Ole counter with a right hand.
Turner is rocked! Turner tries a head kick but it misses.
Turner is still on wobbly legs! Can Kamahawe Ole finish him? Kamahawe Ole cracks Turner with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Turner tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kamahawe Ole pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Turner is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). JJ Kamahawe Ole! JJ Kamahawe Ole managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, El Zoido's Feeble Fightwear *** ROUPA DOS BROTHER*, into his post fight interview.
