Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gavilan Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Marko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barrera comes to the cage accompanied by Ileso. Marko has chosen Holocausto as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gavilan Barrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cain Marko! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marko tries for a takedown but Barrera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No joy there for Barrera, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barrera gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Marko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Marko has gone for a leg lock! Barrera slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marko's guard. Marko has his foot on Barrera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barrera works his way back into a safe position though. Barrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Marko looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Marko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Barrera! Marko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera is working to get back to half guard.
Marko trying to control but Barrera is having none of it. Marko controlling the position easily from mount. Marko won't let Barrera get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Barrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marko on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Marko wants to take Barrera's back here but Barrera is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Marko is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Barrera is in real trouble.
Barrera is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Marko looking for the RNC. I really don't envy Barrera right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marko is not going to allow Barrera to sit and survive in this position. Marko is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Barrera has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Marko looking for the choke but no joy. Marko is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Barrera defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrera wants to get back to his feet. Marko is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Marko is persistently looking for the submission but Barrera is defending it well.
Marko has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Barrera has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Marko dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Barrera moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Barrera lands a two punch combo.
Barrera misses with the combination.
A big head kick from Barrera and Marko is sent sprawling to the canvas!
It looks like Cain Marko has been cut. Barrera won't allow Marko to sweep him here. Barrera is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Marko has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Barrera is looking to defend but Marko has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Barrera! Marko pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Barrera taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Cain Marko!
