Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michal Materla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ten Red Gym (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red Gym is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eye of the Tiger. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michal Materla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 6 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Ten Red Gym! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red Gym gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Red Gym is trying to control the position but Materla postures up. Materla throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Red Gym works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Materla accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Materla missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Materla trying to control but Red Gym is working from the bottom. Materla trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Materla trying to control but Red Gym is working from the bottom. Red Gym keeping full guard, as Materla tries to pass. Materla showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michal Materla wasn't doing enough on the ground. Materla throws a head kick but Red Gym moves out of range.
Materla cracks a nice hook into Red Gym's ribs. Red Gym uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Materla. Materla shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Materla controls from within his opponent's guard. Materla postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Materla throws a strike but Red Gym rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Materla keeping moving, preventing Red Gym from controlling successfully. Red Gym must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Materla is pulling down on Red Gym's head. It's preventing any offense from Red Gym, at least for the moment. Materla wants to sweep here but Red Gym controlling him for the moment. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Red Gym tries to free his leg and advance position but Materla is retaining full guard. Red Gym wants to control from the top but Materla keeps moving. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Materla sizes up Red Gym with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A looping hook to the body misses from Materla. Red Gym does a little dance to reset his feet. Red Gym smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Red Gym fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Materla shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Red Gym as he jumps to the side. Ten Red Gym is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Red Gym looks to land a left hand but Materla moved out of range nicely. A big left from Materla misses. A jab from Materla misses. Red Gym clobbers Materla with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Red Gym swings for the body but Materla moves out of range.
Materla works the jab nicely. Materla closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Materla controlling the pace. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Red Gym gets full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Materla trying to control but Red Gym is working from the bottom. Materla throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Materla is looking to work some ground and pound but Red Gym has wrist control. Materla slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michal Materla. Red Gym throws a body punch but Materla moves out of range. Materla throws an overhand right that lands on Red Gym's shoulder, as Red Gym tries to avoid the shot. Red Gym wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Materla dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Materla fails with a takedown attempt. Red Gym gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Materla wants to control from the top but Red Gym keeps moving. Materla is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Materla is pushing down on Red Gym's leg trying to pass to half guard. Red Gym is fighting to maintain full guard but Materla has managed to sneak the leg through. Materla not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Materla tries to pass the half guard into mount. Red Gym knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ground and pound from Materla. Michal Materla overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Materla takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Materla's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Michal Materla just wasn't active enough. An inside leg kick lands from Red Gym. Red Gym looks to land a right hand but Materla moved out of range. Materla gets a double leg takedown into Red Gym's guard. Materla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Materla throwing strikes from guard but Red Gym blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Materla postures up.
Materla stands up over Red Gym, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Materla postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Materla trying to control but Red Gym is working from the bottom. Materla pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Red Gym is keeping the position for now. Red Gym avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Materla trying to control but Red Gym is working from the bottom. Materla with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Materla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Red Gym swivels though and keeps the full guard. Materla in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Materla passes into half guard. Red Gym trying to control from the bottom.
Materla tries to pass to full mount but Red Gym defends it. Red Gym is defending against the submission attempts here by Materla.
Materla is trying to control the action in half guard but Red Gym is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Red Gym avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Materla. Materla keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Red Gym is refusing to be controlled, as Materla sits in half guard. Materla controlling the pace. Materla is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Red Gym doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Materla. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Materla seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michal Materla dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Red Gym steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Materla. Materla fails with a takedown attempt. Red Gym throws a shot from downtown. Materla moves away and avoids it. Red Gym bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Materla's head. Materla has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Ten Red Gym seems to be getting the better of the standup. Red Gym connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Materla throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Red Gym tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Materla paws at him with a jab and circles away. Red Gym defending well as Materla loads up on a big left hand. Materla waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Red Gym. Red Gym throws a hook to the side of Materla's head but Materla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Red Gym scores with a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Materla bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Red Gym's head backwards. Materla feints and as Red Gym raises his hands in defense, Materla changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Materla throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Materla drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Red Gym manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Materla has Red Gym in his guard. Materla is pulling down on Red Gym's head to control his posture. Red Gym trying to control but Materla is working from the bottom. Red Gym won't allow Materla to sweep him here. Materla is working hard here to advance position. Ten Red Gym has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We're going to have a standup here because Michal Materla wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nice body punch from Red Gym. Oooooh!!! Red Gym has knocked Materla down with a huge combo! Red Gym steps away and waves a wobbly Materla back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Materla is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Red Gym finds Materla's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Materla flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Red Gym lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Materla will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ten Red Gym! An out of breath Ten Red Gym thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
